Currently in Glasgow, Scotland ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ. I have once again been made to represent my tiny nation in the niche sport of weightlifting. Though dis time for the Commonwealth Games. So it’s more crowded than wat I’m used to…
Part of me wonders how dafuq I ended up here. Another part oso wishes I cld have just flown in here, compete, then fly back home ๐
Buuut then again the ppl in charge did put in a lot of effort into dis multi-sport event ๐. So it’s only right of me to appreciate wat they’re providing for us. And meet new international friends along the way…. dat I’ll only see like, twice a year, at most (?)

Oso jst abt a week ago, the World Cup concluded. Currently having some post-World Cup Depression from not being able to watch some random bullshit match taking place when I wake up. Even something like Paraguay Vs Australia wld be nice to watch rite now….

… actly no it won’t, lol. I’ll be lying if I said dat all the games were worth watching. They were definitely a considerable amount of snooze-fests. And the very different North American time zone didn’t help…
Even the finals itself was a disappointment (except for Spain ๐ช๐ธ fans). That game cldve just been an email, istg. It was soo one-sided and boring. Was wondering throughout the 90…. no wait 120 mins, if it was rlly worth waking up at 3am for ๐ซฉ

There was oso the half time show, which was umm… something ๐ค. I mean it was fun and all, but being barely awake at 4 in the morning, having to watch Justin Bieber who’s popped out of nowhere wif his melodramatic songs, just gets u feeling like:

Dis void left by the World Cup is slowly being covered by another football tournament taking place in my region. The biennial AFF Cup is a football tournament between SEA nations, the most prestigious of such.

Tbh, SEA mite genuinely be one of the worst regions at football. Idk why we’re so bad when it’s such a popular sport across here. Except probably in the Philippines ๐ต๐ญ , where they prefer basketball. No excuses for the rest of us, though… ๐
But, at least my country is actly in dis one. Gives us something to cheer for. Always fun to see us have a semi-respectable run, before crashing out, and then watching Vietnam or Thailand win the whole thing again. There’s always hope dat dis time, things wld be different ๐ค

Dis time it’s fun becos we’re oso playing against Indonesia, which is where my mom’s side is from. So I’ll probably watch the game as a neutral, supporting both sides…. wif a slight lean towards the Garuda Bois ๐คซ๐ฎ๐ฉ

So, it’s been quite the sporty weeks, I must say. It’s great becos sports brings ppl tgt. It’s oso not great becos why the hell am I oso involved participating as an athlete? O wells….
Once my event is done, I can go back to doing my proper role, dat is being the angry man on the couch yelling and nitpicking at football players on the TV…
…Hmmm… actly, I noe the perfect job for me based on dat:
