21st April 2026 marks the day Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club got relegated to the Championship, since it’s promotion to the Premier League in 2018. As a fan, while it was clearly coming for quite a while now, it’s still a sad day 😔
Dis club has brought me much joy over the past few years. Except dis latest one. Dis one was just straight up shit. U noe things are down bad when ur source of escapism is doing worse than urself in real life 🤡

Idk if I’m naively optimistic, or some sorta masochist, but I willingly chose to watch most of their games dat I cld catch dis season. My reward for doing so was weekly stress, pain, and disappointment for the past like, 10 months.
Sure there were some gd moments, like dat one random string of games where they won / drew against the big clubs… somehow. But dat was purely ephemeral. Definitely not gonna look back at dis season wif any joy

But tbf, the club’s problems were showing since prior seasons. The management and ownership had displayed, and even admitted their own incompetency at one point. Dat wasn’t fun 🫠
Back then however, there were always top quality players here and there to save their asses every now and then, and get them out of danger:

Selling essentially all of those dudes, and replacing them wif a bunch of randos was probably not the wisest decision, especially in hindsight 😑

haish…. but u can’t rlly blame the current players too much. Most of them just aren’t made for first team football at such a high level…
… Then again, being paid millions and not being able to consistently shoot, cross, receive, or even pass the ball in a straight line, kinda brings my piss to a boil… 😤
It oso low-key feels bad when I saw teams like Everton and Leeds fight for their lives til the end when they were on the verge of relegation. While Wolves just anti-climatically disappeared like a fart in the wind.

There were definitely worse days at the club. So maybe it’s not too bad…yet…
But they’re not gonna go thru dat again, right? Double relegation is a thing of the past. Surely it can’t get any worse now, Mr McCarthy?
