Recently, there r 2 places here I’ve been thinking abt and find pretty amusing for some reason…
First is Sembawang Park. U noe there’s only one bus service (882) dat goes there. And taking it brings u thru the most remote route ever, making u actly feel like ur being taken away from civilisation towards dis big-ass park dats oddly secluded from everything else. It’s oso a lil bit spooky cos there’s a cemetery nearby, and like yea…. combined wif how ulu and isolated u are… like, I wldn’t wanna go there at night….

Beautiful place during the day though 👍. Nice place to main bola, lepak ah jek, have picnics, ambek gambar cantek2, and oso visit the random small beach dats there 🙂

The other place is Marsiling Park. Even though it’s just ur average park wif ur average cool things, there’s certain points there dat lets u get a good look of Johor Bahru at the other side. Which is pretty fascinating the first time I saw it. I mean, I noe u can do the same thing but better at nearby Woodlands Waterfront Park. But dat u one u sorta noe is coming, while I wasn’t rlly expecting dis one…
So I was walking around there wif my friend, minding our own business. Then we were like ehhh wait a sec, those buildings in the distance, dat dun rlly look local… hmmm…. (opens Google Maps)… oH sHiT, dats Malaysia 🇲🇾 😯
Actly u can sorta see Malaysia from Sembawang Park’s beach too. I think essentially, anywhere at the border here dat lets u see across is pretty amusing to me, hehe.
And I’m not the only one dat thinks so. My uncle from Indonesia specifically wanted to see dat shit when he came over here. He oso thinks it’s pretty mind-boggling to be able to clearly look at a completely different country from a distance, while still being where ur at. I can see why, it sorta gives video game “currently locked area” vibes…
Anyways, I love my border town. Wldn’t wish to be born anywhere else in dis country. I love the fact dat the zoo is like, just over there ⬇️
Sometimes I wish I was a dog. Like, some kinda exotic dog. Then they can keep me at the zoo, and I can live in the north forever. A part in the north dat will never disappear for the construction of more buildings…
